Lucifer Series: All about Mazikeen

15/01/2021

Mazikeen is, in the Lucifer series, a "Demon" and for those who don't know, Actress Lesley Ann Brandt left her role of "Naevia" in Spartacus to play our beloved Maze.

Who is Mazikeen?

Mazikeen (played by actress Lesley Ann Brandt), also known by his nickname Maze, is a demon from Hell who has the form of an attractive young woman. For many millennia, she worked for Lucifer as a servant, lieutenant, executioner, assistant and right wing. She is Lucifer's best friend and previously worked with him at the Lux nightclub in Los Angeles before starting a new career as a bounty hunter at LAPD.

Early life:

Maze is among the oldest and most powerful demons that have existed for millions of years. While Lucifer was the king of Hell, she faithfully served him and tortured the souls of deceased humans. Lucifer called her "the most skilled and efficient torturer that Hell has ever known", "one of the strongest and most powerful demons ever" and "the most brutal torturer in Hell". She tortured the Goddess for thousands of years, but the Goddess had no physical form, so the pain was not as powerful as it could have been.

Living on Earth:

When Lucifer left Hell, Amenadiel came to take Lucifer back, but then his necklace was stolen. Lucifer summons Maze on Earth to torture the suspects and help Amenadiel find his medallion. At his orders, she cut her wings. Afterwards, she helps Lucifer in his various adventures in punishing the wicked.

However, Maze feels that they no longer belong to the land and need to return to their home, which Lucifer quickly refuses. This caused Maze to leave Lux and take some time alone to find out where she should be. Back from her "getaway vacation", Maze tries not to care about everyone's problems, including Lucifer's.

Appearance:

In human form, Mazikeen looks like a young and beautiful woman, with medium dark skin. She often wears sexy leather clothes and the color black. She wears her black hair in different styles, like wavy, straight, ponytail, etc. However, when she reveals true demonic nature, the left side of her face looks horribly scarred and mangled. While most people would find this revolting, Trixie thought it looked cool on Halloween.
