Who was Heraclitus of Ephesus?
Heraclitus of Ephesus (approximately 500 BC - 450 BC) was a pre-Socratic philosopher considered the "Father of the dialectic". He received the nickname "Obscuro" mainly because of the work attributed to him by Diógenes Laércio, On Nature, in an obscure style, close to that of oracular sentences.
In the philosophical vulgate, Heraclitus is the thinker of "everything flows" (panta rei, synthesizing the idea of a world in perpetual movement, in opposition to the Parmenides paradigm) and fire, which would be the element from which everything surrounding us derives.
